SCORES of youths in Aboh Mbaise, Imo State, on Wednesday staged a protest, which brought the economic and social activities in the area to a stand still.

Precisely, the youths were protesting the gruesome killing on Tuesday of a medical practitioner in the area, Dr. Nonye Nwishi.

According to them, the deceased was returning from his clinic at about 9.00 p.m. after attending to his patients and was accosted by his assailants, who first requested for the key of his Camry Toyota car.

Continuing, the late Nwishi was said to have thrown the car key away, causing his killers to spray bullets at a close range. His corpse, The Guardian gathered, had been deposited in a nearby morgue.

The protesters, who carried placards with various inscriptions, demanded that the killers be fished out, wondering why their illustrious son was murdered in such a dastardly manner.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Vitalis Onugu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, was not available, but a police source told The Guardian that the command was concerned about the ugly incident and was working to track down the killers.
