Yakubu Eyes Double In 100m, 200m Races  print

Having reached the grand finale of two events, 100 and 200m, International School, Lagos, ISL’s Balikis Yakubu has said that her target is to emerge winner of the two events.

Yakubu earned accolades from the spectators following the way she outpaced other competitors during District Foru Heat on Monday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos. She told P.M.NEWS Sports that  she won’t relent on her effort until she wins the gold medals of the two events come Saturday’s grand finale.

“It is nothing but the two gold medals in 100m and 400m, that is my target in this competition,” she said.

She showered encomiums on the Lagos State government for organising the competition, adding that she said shwo would have loved it if the tourney is staged every month.

She also commended the security committee for providing adequate security at the venue.
