Bisi Joseph, Secretary General, Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSF) told School Sport on phone  on Wednesday that the federation and the host state had put all machinery  in place to host all the states of the federation in the youth festival aimed at discovering talents for the country.

According to her, 23 events would be competed for  during the school sports festival last held in Cross Rivers State.

The events are; Football-male and female, table tennis, tennis, badminton, combat-games; (karate, kung fu), volleyball, handball, squash, athletics, basketball, swimming, among others.

The NSSF scribe said: ‘’the federation is determined to take the bull by the horns hence  its determination to ensure that this year’s edition is well-organised and devoid of crisis and age cheat. This is in line with the Minister of Sports’ decision to develop sports at schools in order to discover talents for the country so as to replace the ageing athletes.”

Also, the federation has warned all the participating states to desist from the use of mercenaries (non Students).

“We would not hesitate to sanction any school sports officials or coaches involved in cheating at the festival,’’she said.
