Enugu Rangers have said they will feature 2013 Africa Cup of Nations’ hero, Sunday Mba against Vital’O of Burundi in the first leg first round of the Caf Champions League.

The Flying Antelopes secured passage into the first round after they walked over their preliminary round opponents, Sporting Club Do Principe of Sao Tome Principe in Enugu.

The first leg against Vital’O is billed for the weekend of March 15, 16 and 17 at the 22,000-seat Prince Louis Rwagasore Stadium in Bujumbura, Burundi while the reverse fixture comes up in two weeks at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

The Nigerian forward has been the subject of a bitter ownership tussle between two Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) sides, Enugu Rangers and Warri Wolves.

On Thursday, a four-man Nigeria Football Federation judicial panel of inquiry headed by the federation’s director of competitions, Dr Sanusi Mohammed asked the clubs in the dispute to meet and resolve the case amicably failure of which they will be compelled to make pronouncement.

However, an official of Enugu Rangers, Foster Chime said the club will be kindly disposed to meet with Warri Wolves’ reasonable demand outside further claim of the lethal finisher.

“We’re not going to beg Warri Wolves one bit over the unnecessary ownership claim over Sunday Mba. We hold the ace and will surely dictate the path of settlement.

“We’ll meet with them next week Tuesday to know what they want outside further claim of the player. If the peaceful settlement fails we’ll return to the NFF.

“We hope to feature Mba in next weekend’s first leg, first round of the Caf Champions League tie at Vital’O of Burundi in Bujumbura.

“He won’t be available for the league opener against Enyimba because he is due to hit the Super Eagles’ camp on Sunday for the World Cup qualifier against Kenya on March 23 in Calabar,” he said to supersport.com.

Rangers will play hosts to oriental foes, Enyimba in Enugu on Matchday 1 of the NPFL on Saturday.
