NPA reshuffles top management staff, creates new department

WorldStage Newsonline– In its bid to reposition the organisation in line with the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan administration, the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority, Mallam Habib Abdullahi has approved the re-shufflement of top management positions in the Authority.

According to a statement, the General Manager Board/Legal Adviser Mrs Obiageli Anubi however retains her position and re-designated as Board Secretary/General Manager Board.

The MD also approved the creation of a new department known as New Business and Joint Ventures to be headed by Mrs Ugo Madubuike the erstwhile General Manager Audit, while the former General Manager, Procurement Mallam Abdullahi Bashir is now in-charge of Servicom department.

Others affected are: Engr. T.O Talabi former General Manager Capital Projects is now moved to Health Safety and Environment, Mr C. J. Okonji of Corporate and Strategic Planning is the new General Manager Finance, Mr. Sotonye Etomi of Eastern Ports now the General Manager Special Duties, Mallam M.Nasri Kuliya former General Manager Finance now General Manager Audit, Arch. Musa Danhassan formerly Health Safety and Environment now takes charge of Physical Planning and Development.

The list also include, Miss. Adenike Sonaike the General Manager Human Resources now moves to Western Port as General Manager, Capt. Iheanacho Ebubeogu formerly General Manager Marine now takes over the Public Affairs department as General Manager, as Mallam .M. Bulangu take charge of Marine and Operations as General Manager.

Mr. Sunday Nwobi General Manager Physical Planning and Development moves to Eastern Ports as General Manager while Chief M.K. Ajayi of Public Affairs Department moves to Administration as General Manager, Alhaji Abba Umar Rufai of Special Duties is now the General Manager in-charge of Human Resources.

The re-shufflement also affected Asst. General Managers and Port Managers while new Port Managers are also been appointed. Joshua Asanga, Port Manager Lagos Ports Complex is now to cover the duties of General Manager Procurement. The newly appointed Port Managers are; Muhammed Nasir Port Manager Lagos Ports Complex, Mrs Carol Ufere Port Manager Port Harcourt Port, Longe Babatunde Port Manager Tin Can Island Port Complex, Engr. Wada Musa Port Manager Calabar Port Complex and Alhaji Umar Munir Port Manager Onne Port, Obunneme Onueyenwa retains his position as Port Manager Delta Port, Warri.

The Managing Director further directed that handing over processes should be completed on or before Friday 18th January, 2013.
