iROKOtv has announced that it is joining hands with the Finnish handset giant, Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK), in order to introduce its first mobile application on the Windows Phone platform for Nokia’s Lumia series. iROKOtv is a streaming video service in Nigeria, which provides instant access to a large number of N0llywood movies.

The agreement will help the struggling Finnish cell phone giant to gain some momentum. Nokia is one of the most trusted brands in Nigeria and has completed other content agreements on its lower-spec Asha series.

The latest deal is designed to increase awareness for its Lumia series. For iROKOtv, the agreement is about getting access to customers in Nigeria, though any Lumia owner around the world can avail this offer.

CEO and Founder of iROKO Partners, Jason Njoku, said that Nokia (NOK) engineers had worked with iROKOtv and helped them to develop the application as well as assisted them in optimizing it for Nigeria’s networks. The app will provide users access to a large number of movies and will also offer additional news and interviews with Nollywood stars.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), after opening at $4.02, hit the high price of $4.12 and then closed at $4.00 by scoring +2.04%. NOK Nokia Corporation (NYSE:NOK)generated revenue of 40.62 billion in the previous twelve months and earned -$4180.69 million. The Company showed a negative -12.56% in the net profit margin and its operating margin remained -7.63%.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) showed weekly downbeat performance of -4.76%, which was maintained for the month at -2.68%. Likewise, the positive performance for the quarter was recorded as +49.81% and for the year was -14.35%, while the YTD performance remained at +1.27%.
