Nigeria Vs Burkina Faso: Zimbabwean PM wishes Super Eagles well

2013 AFCON Final Johannesburg, South Africa – Ahead of Sunday’s final match at the 2013 African Nations Cup in South Africa, the Super Eagles have continued to receive messages of encouragement from well wishers as they prepare to take on Burkina Faso at the National Stadium in Johannesburg.

The latest message came from the Zimbabwe Prime Minister, Morgan Tsvangirai, who has joined numerous well wishers who will like to see the Super Eagles win the African Nations Cup on Sunday.

A PANA Correspondent covering the event, ran into Tsvangirai by the pool side of the posh Palazzo Hotel, Monte Casino on the outskirt of Johannesburg.

Nigeria’s sports minister, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, also met with Tsvangirai.

Tsvangirai told PANA he was happy to see the Super Eagles put up a superb display in the tournament which he said he had followed keenly.

He was particularly delighted at the performance of the Super Eagles against the highly-rated Cote d’Ivoire, saying ‘that match was the turning point for the Super Eagles.’

He said he was delighted to see the team improving from match to match and that he watched the match with the Malians and came to the conclusion that ‘only the Super Eagles can defeat themselves”.

Tsvangirai warned, however, that the Nigerian players must careful and not take anything for granted until the cup is won.

‘Do not underrate the Burkina Faso team as they will have all the advantages that underrated teams always have. They are very strong. Besides, they look physically well built and also play very fast,’  said Tsvangirai.
