UDFs Musalia Mudavadi will be the presidential flag bearer for the newly formed Amani coalition between him, New Ford Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa and Kanu’s Gideon Moi.

Mudavadi was endorsed for the top seat during the National Delegates Congress that took place at the Bomas of Kenya today attended by delegates from Kanu and New Ford Kenya.

During his acceptance speech, Mudavadi committed to uniting Kenyans and do away with divisive politics. He further said that his government would spur economic growth in order to take the country to greater heights.

He was flanked by his wife and children during the conference. New Ford Kenya’s Eugene Wamalwa ceded his presidential ambition and said he would be supporting Mudavadi instead for the top job. There was no announcement of who Mudavadi’s running mate would be.

Meanwhile, presidential candidate on a Restore and Build Kenya (RBK) party James Ole Kiyiapi was unanimously endorsed as the presidential flag bearer for the party.

He was endorsed at the party’s National Delegates’ Conference at Ufungamano House where he pledged to restructure and reform public service in line with the constitution. He further said that his government would deal with security, national unity, social inequality, healthcare and food security.

He added that unemployment levels in the country are alarming and that he would declare the situation a national disaster as his party deals with it with utmost sensitivity. Kiyiapi did not announce who his running mate would be in the March 4 elections.
