The AKOFA Ivy league is an annual basketball tourney for boys and girls in private secondary schools across Lagos. It began about a decade ago with less than 10 schools.

Speaking after the matches, the CEO of AKOFA Sports, John Bimbo Faniran, who is the co-coordinator of the tourney, said that the outstanding quarter match will be decided tomorrow, while the second semi fnal match would come up at the weekend at the Rowe Park basketball court, Yaba, Lagos.

He added that  with the standard of play exhibited by all teams in this year’s tournament, the organisers expect a tourgh final match.

“We’re very impressed with the standard of play of most of the teams that are participating in this tourney and, more importantly, the impressive results being recorded by all the teams so far in the competition.

“The game can consolidate on the talents of these players if their parents can support them to improve on their game,” Faniran said.
