As the governorship election in Anambra State draws nearer, the member representing Anaocha/Dunukofia/Njikoka federal constituency, Mrs. Uche Ekwunife yesterday declared her intention to run for the governorship of the state.

She also said the need for the state to have a governor with passion for the state like hers was apt now that the state will file out to elect a new governor.

“I stand here today my people to thank you and to brief you on the happenings in the National Assembly where I represent you. As I promised you that I shall be briefing you on regular basis, I have also kept faith with my campaign promises by attracting developmental projects to our various communities across the constituency and I also want to share my passion with you concerning my intention to serve you better as your governor” she said.

“It is no longer news among you that we have benefited immensely from our purposeful representation in the House of Representatives and I am promising you better days ahead when with your support, I get there” The lawmaker further described zoning as being speculated by various groups in the state as unconstitutional, adding that what the state needed was a person who can bring about development in all sectors.

She commended governor Peter Obi for bringing democracy dividends to the grassroots and urged her constituents to give her full support to run for the office of the governor in the next governorship election.
