Addax, lawmaker donate relief materials to flood victims in Imo, Delta

SUCCOUR continues to come the way of victims of the recent flood that devastated many communities in the country with Addax Petroleum Nigeria Limited, donating relief materials worth millions to flood victims in Oguta Local Council of Imo State.

Also, the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency, Delta State in the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, has urged victims of the recent flood disaster in his constituency to look beyond their temporary difficulties, assuring them of his support.

Presenting the materials to the victims at the premises of the company in Izombe, Oguta Local Council, the Managing Director, Adax, Cor Zegelaar, who was represented by the Community Relations Manager, Emeka Obi, urged leaders of the two worst affected communities of Eziorsu and Osuobodo, to ensure that the items reached the victims adequately.

The materials included 200 mattresses, 200 blankets, 100 bags of rice, two cows, 40 bags of beans, 20 cartons of vegetable oils and two hundred tubers of yam.

Speaking when he donated relief items to the victims at three new camps at Omoka Primary School, Illah and Oneh Primary School, Asaba both in Oshimili South Local Council and Ewulu Secondary School in Aniocha Council, Elumelu told them not to despair, but to put their trust in God.

The items, estimated at over N5 million, included five live cows, bags of rice, cartons of tomatoes, blankets treated mosquito nets, cartons of beverages.

Receiving the items, the President General of Osuobodo Progressive Union, Prof. Benneth Kanenechukwu Obioma, on behalf of the people, expressed gratitude to the oil company for coming to their assistance during this time of need caused by the natural disaster.
